About the Trainer

Angela M.Thomas attended her first dog training class in the summer of 1968.  In the mid-seventies she apprenticed for 18 months in a grooming shop before breaking out on her own.  She worked as a full time groomer for over 3 years before a back injury forced her to find another career.  Angela found two careers, she went to school to become a computer programmer in addition to returning to dog training, her initial love.  Angela fell in love with the Chinese Shar Pei dogs and could not afford to purchase one, so she made an equitable agreement with a Shar-Pei breeder.  In exchange for housing and feeding one male show Shar-Pei and his bride and for whelping two of their anticipated litters, she could co-own both Shar-Peis and keep 1 puppy from each breeding.    

In the meantime, Angela was studying people psychology and abnormal psychology. She studied different animals pack behaviors and the nature versus nurture theory. She was also employed by a major telecommunications company from, 1983 - 2002 in a variety of technical positions. 

With more than 36 years of hands-on experience, Angela is an expert in animal behavior, animal communication, obedience training, puppy training, housebreaking, aggression issues, seperation anxiety and rehabilitating shelter pets.  She believes you can overcome many instincts with the right motivation, positive training, respect, love and environment.  She does work with rescue groups and shelters and can help you with your dog.  Our pricing is reasonable considering the quality of service.

Rehabilitation

Angela considers herself to be the East Coast dog whisperer. She works with all breeds on aggressive behavior, obedience training, and basic manners. A specialty of Angela's is working with abused animals, which need rehabilitation to make them feel secure and overcome fears and problems. There are many different kinds of abuse: accidents, physical violence, and neglect. Each case is completely different in relation to the breed, age, length of abuse, and behavior. Angela will bond with the dog and observe the interaction between the owner and animal before proceeding with treatment.

Pet Bathing

Angela offers individualized instruction for your specific breed of pet.  We will teach you about how to groom your pet perfectly. This includes trimming nails, cleaning the ears, brushing the top coat, combing the undercoat,  a furminator treatment to reduce shedding (if requested), and a professional hair style, a warm bath, and fluff dry.  This is a limited service, please call for complete details

Dog Parties/Pet Massage

Host a dog party! Angela will teach the group dog massage, while we discuss animal communications, nutrition, how dogs talk to us, and basic pet massage techniques.  We will discuss your breeds most interesting traits.  Did you ever wonder why you selected the type of dog you have now? Printed materials about dog massage and animal communication will be provided.  Requests will be taken for special breed reports - these reports will document all the pros and cons of your breeds personality, all the medical information for your breed and the origin and complete history of your breed.  This report is chock full of so much information - call and request one today
